A really big THANK YOU for your excellent car rental service during my family’s first trip to Iceland this week! 

I have used a lot of car rental companies for both business and vacation hire across Europe and North America, and I have to say that my experience of GILDO ehf has been outstanding. Rather than the impersonal anonymity of an online booking service, with lots of hidden insurance costs and ‘extras’, the direct approach to GILDO provided us with a really quick and clear response from our initial enquiry to our booking.

Your pricing was really competitive, and was nearly half the cost of some quotes (just before we left I saw a ‘special offer’ in the main Reykjavik Tourist Information centre for exactly the same car you provided but at higher price (and that was without the SCDW)).

Despite the fact that I advised you of our change of accommodation address less than an hour before the early morning delivery of our car (you don’t seem to have a problem with ‘out of office hours’ service that restrict some of the major companies), our car arrived exactly on time, delivered with a friendly and highly professional attitude by Liqa and Klinta.
The condition of the 4x4 was great, and it was perfectly suited to enable us to make the most of a short break to explore Western Iceland as far out as Snæfellsjökull (what a great place, and, with the help of the above mentioned ladies, I can now nearly pronounce this!), as well as the tourist route Golden Circle without the restrictions of a tour bus schedule.

GILDO was really flexible in offering us extended hours beyond our original booking at no additional cost on the point of delivery, and, when we called to say we were finished slightly earlier than planned, the telephone was quickly answered and your lovely staff once again arrived promptly to collect the car, which allowed us to make the most of our last evening in Reykjavik.
