Iceland’s Place Names Committee will choose a name for a waterfall discovered in southeast Iceland, near Morsarjokull glacier in Öræfum, on August 14; the unnamed waterfall is 228 meters high. Morsárjökull glacier is located south of Vatnajokull glacier, not far from Skaftafell; the new waterfall is 30 meters higher than the Glymur waterfall in the Hvalfjordur fjord area, west Iceland. Morgunbladid and mbl.is asked their readers to send in suggestions for a new name from June 14 to June 30, and received nearly 2000 suggestions.
