Never before have so many foreign tourists visited Iceland in June than last month. According to the statistics of the Icelandic Tourist Board, 65,606 foreign tourists departed from Keflavík International Airport last month, which is an increase of 11,215 persons compared to June 2010, or 20.6 percent. When single market areas are looked at, there is a 50.4 percent increase in tourists from North America, 17 percent increase from the Nordic countries, 15.7 from central and southern Europe, 7.6 from the UK and 12 percent from other countries, Morgunbladid reports.
